Everyone is invited to participate in the great Liturgies of the Church, the various Parish events, and the community gatherings.
And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
-Hebrews 10:24-25

Growing in the Faith, discovering its liberating beauty, is an on going adventure. The Spiritual Summer Series seeks to help us continue this discovery. As "the ear of the wise seeks knowledge (Prov.18:15)" we have no need to fear, for the "truth sets us free (Jn.8:32)." Everyone is welcome to join us for a Spiritual presentation, discussion, and fraternity. All events are: bring your own beverage.

"I am the living bread which came down from Heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is My Flesh.” -Jesus
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the Blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the Body of Christ? Because there is one Bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one Bread. -St. Paul
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. -Jesus
We have the great honor of being invited to the Ordination of James Beran to the Order of Deacon. Having been blessed into the Ministry of Lector and Acolyte, this will be his step into a life of Ordained Ministry. Following his brief time as a Deacon, James will then be Ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood. Priestly Ordination will be announced at a later date. For now, we get to witness James promise his obedience, celibacy, prayer, and service to the Diocese of Grand Island, at the hands of Bp. Hanefeldt. This is a great joy for the whole Diocese! If you cannot make the Ordination, please be sure to fast and pray for Seminarian, soon to be Deacon James.
On his journey Sem. James was first tasked with entering Seminary. There he would spend 3 or 4 years discerning if God was calling him to Priesthood or to be an earthly father. In these years he studied Philosophy. Following this time, Sem. James was sent on to Theology Seminary, where his discernment continued, but with greater confidence in his unworthy calling to be Ordained a Priest. Studying in Theology Seminary for a minimum of 4 years, Sem. James would be schooled in the Faith of God. As a Deacon, Sem. James will begin to learn the practical application of God's Religion. Following a time of 6 months to a year as a Deacon, Reverend Mister James will be Ordained to the Priesthood, becoming Reverend James. From there, Bishop will assign him to a Parish or send him on for further studies, so that he may better serve the Diocese.
For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Because of this he is bound to offer sacrifice for his own sins as well as for those of the people. And one does not take the honor upon himself, but he is called by God, just as Aaron was.
But He said to them, “Not all men can receive this precept, but only those to whom it is given. For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. He who is able to receive this, let him receive it.”
First Confessions for those preparing to receive Holy Communion will be celebrated once in the fall and once in the spring. Exact dates will be determined with the CCD Directors.
